Charting question - O date confusion!

Hello ladies,

I am new to the ttc forum, this is the first month my partner and I are actively ttc. I need help!

I have been charting for awhile now, temping for the last 3 cycles and this cycle is throwing me for a loop! So, I had a positive opk 4 days ago on cd 15, my temps went up the following day (cd 16) and opk that day was neg. The weird part is, I am now on cd 18 and I still have eggwhite cm?!?! Has anyone else experienced this? I took an opk today and it was negative. When do you think I actually o'ed?

my chart

thanks so much for your wise thoughts!

your chart looks good. the corpus luteum that is making the progesterone that makes your temp rise- it also makes a little estrogen. you can see ewcm sometimes with an estrogen surge. sometimes you see your temp drop for a day, too, sometime between 4-8 dpo most often, and it comes right back up. it's no problem.

Thanks for your input karma. My cycles are pretty consistent as far as ewcm goes, so it kinda threw me to have it after I supposedly ovulated!

So do you think FF's ovulation date is right?

i think it's right + or - 12 hours or so. you could have o'd on cd15, maybe, although it's not typical to o on the same day as a +opk, it does happen. but i think cd16 is the most likely. do you have it set on opk method now? ff would likely make your coverline 97.5, so i think advanced and research would both say cd16, and fam method would either say cd16 or even maaaybe cd17, but my best guess is your cd16. good luck!

oh, one more thing, in case you come across this again- ff says that it's a normal variation to have ewcm during your luteal phase from time to time or for some women. it's nothing to worry about. if you have a sustained thermal shift (which it's looking like you do- they say 3 days, and those are definitely post-o temps, unless you are sick with a fever,) disregard the fertile mucous- you arent fertile at that time, it's just a little estrogen effect. if you havent seen a thermal shift, if your temps are bouncing around and you arent certain that you have o'd and you see ewcm, then assume you are fertile at that time- which is totally common sense.

Thanks again Karma! I have FF's ovulation monitor set on opk now, when I did advanced it gave me an O date on cd 15, which I don't agree with, although I guess anything is possible! Either way, I think we got our timing pretty good this month.

Now for the dreadful 2ww!
