Yesterday by the time I got off work my eye started aching. Not bad but enough for me to notice. It was in the very far corner of my right eye. Now its not unusual for my eyes to hurt when I am very tired so I didnt think anything of it. A few hours after I got home it started to feel more sore. Like as if I had a sty in my eye or something which I have had a few times before in the past. No biggie. It only felt sore when I blinked. I could move my eye without pain. So then before bed I check it out in the mirror and when I look to the far left it exposed the very far right side of my eye (behind the eyelid) and I see a bright red very long and squiggly red vein. Ive never had any eye problems before. i dont wear contacts or glasses and have never had an eye injury. I also have not had any vision changes. No throwing up or anything that causes strain. So this came out of the blue. I wouldnt mind seeing the red vein so much on its own but the soreness kinda worried me. I thought I would see how I felt in the morning.
So this morning the soreness is gone but the vein is very much still there. And very red and pretty big. I could post a picture of it but I dont want to gross anyone out. Im concerned that if its a blood vessel that has popped or at risk for popping will that be a problem while I am in labor and pushing? Should I mention it to my OB? I know she will refer me to my general health care provider but problem is I dont have one. Im on pregnancy only medi-cal. I dont have the money to see a dr. But Im also worried that if I do nothing it could affect my vision permanently.
Anyone have any similar experiences? Oh and I did a google search on it last night and for sure its not a Subconjunctival Hemorrhage. It doesnt look like blood. Its just a bright red thick vein that (at least to my knowledge) wasnt there before. The pain is gone and my vision is fine so Im not sure if I should worry. I cant think of a cause other than maybe I was tired and rubbed my eyes or something.
