I second the recommendation for both Haba and Under the Nile toys. We've also liked the Kathe Kruse doll teethers

Not exactly "toys", but my year old LOVES washcloths. I give him 6 or 10 in a little basket and he will play forever with them.

He also loves ribbons in 1 and 2 foot segments - I melt the raw edges though so he can't unravel them.

And socks. He always seems to have a sock in his mouth.

My DS is a big fan of washcloths too! He also likes to play with cloth diapers, especially the one I'm using to prevent a shower during diaper changes . I don't know if they exactly count as cloth because it's probably nylon or poly but we have a firefly and peacock from Lamaze that DS has loved for months now. It seems like they've grown pretty well with him as he finds something interesting on them for each development milestone he hits.
