How do I get silly putty out of clothing?

A few weeks ago, DD2 leaned over some silly putty and pressed her elbow into it, smushing the silly putty into the elbow of her fancy sweater (like the outside half of a twinset.)

We stuck it into the freezer hoping it would thicken up and peel off easily. The "frozen" silly putty is as sticky as ever.

How do we get this off?

I thought I've heard of putting an ice cube directly on it and breaking/peeling it off once it's frozen.

Peanut butter. It also works on getting gum out too.
