i have a similar kind of baby. she naps fine on her own (thank GOD!!) but when she's awake, she better be in someone's arms, or watch out. i put her in the moby since she'll be happy for a while in there, and also have had luck with putting her down in new places, like a PP mentioned. but sometimes, when i'm by myself and really need to shower or pee or grab something to eat, i put her down and hope for the best. yeah, she often does start to cry, but i figure that my needs are important too. and surprisingly, i've discovered that when i stopped rushing to her the second she let out any kind of pissed off sound, she has actually started to go a bit longer without freaking out than i would expect. partly it's her age... at 2 months, her surroundings are becoming a bit more interesting to her.
