super ultra last minute tax connundrum

so i did my fed taxes and sent them in a few days ago.
My state taxes I forgot to send in, and so I was doing them online on TaxHawk.com
They also ask for all your fed info and you can't opt out of that part, so I filled it all in. They found $1800 more than I had found for my refund. The thing is, they were both for credits that I did the worksheets for when I was getting all this stuff ready weeks ago, and I did not find that I was eligible for either one.

given that I have already mailed in my fed taxes (paper copy), would it be unwise to aslo efile this one? with the extra 1800? I really do NOT want to be audited...

wait til they are accepted and file an amend (I think that is what it is called)

I'd double check that you're actually entitled to those credits, and if you are, then you can file an amended return after your original return is accepted. Do NOT file a new return. It has to be an amended return - there is a form for this.

yes, amend. You can't file twice or it will likely be flagged.

The 1040X is the one for amending. I noticed a mistake on last year's taxes when I was doing this year's and filled one out.
