Miles (13 mos) broke out in hives when he was around 10 mos after I gave him some scrambled eggs.
No respiratory trouble but VERY itchy his whole face. I should've given him just the egg yolk but I didn't.
Anyway, that promptly an allergy test (blooddraw) for common allergens. So eggs turned up, along with shrimp, wheat and roaches.
I joked and told the ped I'll stop giving roaches.
The thing is, up to that point I've been giving Miles Cheerios, breadsticks, pasta with no visible problems. I read online somewhere that allergy testing for wheat (on los) can yield false positives.
Do you think its worth repeating the test? He doesn't eat a whole lot and what he wants has wheat. Naturally, If he is indeed allergic to it I would not give it to him. Same token, I'd hate to restrict his diet if it is a false pos.
Thoughts?
