I did 100-500, but I might b e a little off. On basic curriculum we have spent about 200-250.00 this year. The extras are much harder to add up. Many times i purchase fun extra things to go with our units, ingredients for experiments, etc. The extra sports my dd takes she might take if she was in school too. Field trips we would still take just not as many........ it's hard to figure out what is exactly homeschooling and what is just homeliving. I do know I'm saving about 175.00 a month in preschool costs having my preschooler home. .

I budget about ÂŁ100 a month for HE my 2 boys (3 & 5).
It tends to go on things like:
craft supplies ÂŁ15 a month
Books ÂŁ15 a month
Classes: ÂŁ20 (just for 5y/o)
Outings (once or twice a month) ÂŁ30
Swimming: ÂŁ10
Misc: board games / online memberships ÂŁ10

I've just brought a Maths-U-see curriculum for ÂŁ90 and am going to see how it goes.

But i do compare it to sending the boys to the local steiner school, where i would have to work full time to pay for them to go, so I'm saving soooo much money.

I said $1000-3000 but I haven't really added up what I've spent so far for next school year and what I have left to spend. I have 4 kids, 2 formally hsed, one pre-k'er who will go to pre-k 4 mornings a week (speech reasons), and a 2yo who just likes to cause trouble. We'll do some of our work in the afternoons when dd3 is home to join in, so I'll have 3 or 4 copies of some things since we're doing science and history together (we're going to use Sonlight) Uhhhhh let's see................

2 cores (one handed down from older siblings, one bought missing a few books used)
1 science
2 lang arts levels (one handed down, one bought used)
gotta buy readers still for one LA level
3 different levels math workbooks
4 different HWT workbooks
PowerGlide Jr. Spanish (bought used)
gymnastics for 1 ($13/lesson twice a week)
ballet for 2 ($81/ 9 weeks for one, $99/ 9 weeks for the other)
soccer for 3 ($170 for both seasons on family rate, they cap it at that price)
soccer shoes, balls for anyone who needs them
ballet and gymnastics leos, tights, shoes
violin rental and lessons for 1
piano lessons for 2 (should buy a real piano too)
co-ops for 2 kids randomly at various prices (TBD later)
basic school supplies
Staples costs for making copies of activity sheets for everyone (science, core, and LA levels)
Explode the Code books for kids who need them
printer ink
a case of printer paper
file folders and lapbooking supplies
fixing a currently non-functional computer
more bookshelves (can build those ourselves though)
gas to get everywhere
zoo membership ($89 already bought)
Works membership (gotta renew in Oct, $60 for a year)
late fees for library (whatever they end up being at any given moment LOL)
etc...............

LOL It should be somewhere between $1k-3k if I'm estimating right. Thankfully I have the option of buying some of this stuff used and getting other stuff through Amazon using gift cards we redeem our reward points on our debit cards to get (just redeemed for a $100 amazon card, in a few months we'll do it again) Most of the expenses come up as monthly expenses, and they wouldn't do all the outside activities if we had them in ps. I value my time with them too much, when dd1 was in ps last year we dropped gymnastics to spend time together as a family instead.
