Moving to Guam vaccination info needed

My family is moving to Guam this summer and plan to travel in the region as
well. The CDC recommends Typhoid and Hep A as well as the routine series. My son
is unvaccinated and I would prefer to keep it to a minimum if any. I would
appreciate information about that area's risks for all the vaccine preventable
diseases as well as insight to what I might expect from the Air Force regarding
his records.

This is the MMWR for this past week...looks like there is a whole lot of nothing going on in Guam.

Looks like Listeriosis and botulism are the major issues and you can't vaccinate for those...Just watch what you eat

My family lived in Guam for 5 years. I was a school counselor and my DH was a teacher. There aren't any more risks for VPDs in Guam than there are in the states. . .except for maybe TB, but the US/Guam doesn't give the TB vax. Now, with the military, you should check out the past threads on MDC for information regarding military regs and exemptions.

I don't know about Guam...but I have been living in the developing world (Malaysia, Philippines, now China) for going on 6 years and have not given any vax to my kids.
