Maybe this is a silly question

...but I have been wondering about this, so I'll ask anyway! DH and I were both firstborn, and we were both born before our due dates. I was 2 weeks early, and DH was 3 weeks early. I know I weighed 7lb. 1 oz. and measured at 19 in. long. Don't know about DH, but I believe he was about the same size. So, does this have any bearing at all on our first baby? I mean, I know every baby will develop at a slightly different pace, but is it more likely that he/she will be born a little ahead of schedule rather than late? I know it doesn't really matter at all because the baby will come whenever it's ready, but it's something I've been curious about. I guess maybe it's more the fear of giving birth to a big baby than anything that is making me hope it will come just a wee bit early and not have too much extra time to get too big!

They say it does but I found it doesnt for me.

I was 9 pounds and my ex was 10 pounds and both of our children (one born 4 days past their due date, the other 4 days before) were in the lower 7 pound range. As for when we were born, he was 3 weeks past due and I was born ON my due date... but my mother had a history of premature labor and the doctors dont think that will reflect on me at all.

A big baby squishes... don't worry about birthing a big baby. I'm a very petite woman and all of my babies were quite big.

I was born on my due date. My husband was premature. ALL of our babies have been inductions between 41 and 42 weeks. I'm aiming this time for a natural labor.

It varies even from pg to pg. My mom had my sister and I 2 weeks before EDD, I had my first two two weeks before EDD. I don't know about DH, but then DS stayed in there till 41 weeks. And yes, fat isn't that big of a deal to get out. The girls were right below 7 lbs and no problems, DS was close to 9lbs and 18 inches and he came out fine despite the size and massive shoulders. For the record I wear a size 0, so I don't exactly have large hips.

Wasn't true for us. Ds was born a day before his due date and dd was born three days after her due date.

I don't think it really means anything tbh, i've no idea how much my lo's dad weighed or if he was "on time" as he was adopted, i was my mums first and i was born 5 days early and weighed 6LB 15OZ and my 1st i went into labour on her due date and she was born the morning after, she weighed 7LB 9OZ.
