I have to say, I think the newborn phase might be my favorite phase. I love my kids, but newborns are just so sweet and cuddly and... I keep getting sad thinking this might really be my last one - I'm just enjoying it so much!
Anyway, beyond that, i thought it'd be fun to make lists of other little things that are great about having newborns.
soooo... here's ones I've been thinking of...
- gives me an excuse to feed my cloth diaper AND my babywearing addiction...
- knitting newborn items is *so* much faster than knitting bigger things
- newborns smell good
- grunty little newborn noises are just about the sweetest thing EVER
- newborns are not that heavy to carry (or wear) around everywhere (although mine's trying to outgrow that ASAP
)
- it's so much fun to watch their little personalities bloom... and wonder what they'll be like later...
- newborns look like little old men (ok, mine does, at least) and it cracks me up
- first smiles, first giggles
- I love watching a newborn try and figure out how his limbs work - waving them around and looking freaked out when he brushes his arm past his face
- toothless mouths
- they way newborns look at *everything* like "WTF is THAT??"
and then the same look at the next thing they see...
- the sheer joy and excitement when they know they're gonna be fed (i.e. when I break out the boob)
Please add yours!!
