ear tubes?

Hi - my LO got an ear infection in December (before Xmas) and since it didn't clear up on it's own - took, Penicillin, Ceftin (I think) and the 5 day azithromiacin (sp?). She's 9 months. She still has fluid in her ears as of yesterday. She saw a chiro Monday who assured me her ears would drain fine after the visit - they didn't. ENT wants to do tubes - any thoughts?

No way I'd do tubes after 1 ear infection. Tubes should be a last resort for recurrent infections. Keep going to the chiro.... It often takes regular visits.

The ped is assuming there have been 3 or 4 ear infections - I'm not sure it ever cleared up - the nurse pract. we saw never did follow ups and so we only went in when she seemed to be in pain/fever - I don't know if it's the same infection or multiple. We saw an ENT after the 3rd round of antibiotics

We'll keep seeing the chiro - that's what my guts says to do but I'm scared that it won't work.
