Unit study on the Nazca Lines?

Hi all! My son is currently fascinated with the Nazca Lines in Peru. He has requested that we "study" them. He's only 8 and I honestly do not even know where to begin. I'm thinking we'll make a little scrapbook or lapbook recording our findings/facts about these geoglyphs. I already printed out pictures of his 3 favorite (the spider, the monkey, and the hummingbird) just so he can look at them whenever he wants. I also showed him on the globe where the Nazca Lines can be found.

Can someone please help me with finding more information on the Nazca Lines for an 8 year old? And perhaps even ideas on activities we can do together? Thanks!!

We loved studying the Nazca Line Drawings. For our activity we took a white crayon and drew pictures on white cardstock, then painted watercolors over it...to drive home how difficult it can be to "draw" when you can't see what you are doing. That was staright from our activity guide. We also made mashed potato maps and "plowed" our favorite pics in our "fields". Maybe another branch off would be to go into constellations from here, since to me the line drawings are almost as hard to tell what they are as some constellations.

http://www.nazcaresources.com/ apparently someone wrote a kids book even! Added bonus of exposure to the language of Peru as the book has english text on one side of each spread.. and the same text in spanish on the other side.
