Shaking when tired?

DD wakes up A LOT during nap (she's currently napping and has already woken up 4 or 5 times, I don't remember exactly). Anyways, I've noticed recently that she wakes up shaking. Today her poor little hand was shaking like crazy.

I know during these times she's not ready to get up yet and she always nurses back down to sleep but should I be concerned about her shaking when she wakes up?

I don't know... my DS has done this since birth but it's never been something that concerns me. When he was just a few days old, still in the hospital, they tested his blood sugar a few times because of the shaking (it was always fine, for my DS I think it's more of a stress thing, if he wakes up & gets scared etc.) Does she cry when she's shaking? (My DS does)... Does she seem disoriented or lethargic? (DS doesn't, and if he did I would be a little concerned).

Yes, she normally acts very scared and disorientated. I think she has a lot of fears and tends to have nightmares often (especially when teething). Sometimes, it's hard to calm her down enough to get her back to sleep..

Yup that sounds exactly like my DS! I guess the "disoriented" part could go either way... he knows who I am etc. but he doesn't seem quite right, but not in a medical-issue type of way, if that makes sense! I know *I* actually have the same problem myself. I don't nap usually, but on the rare occasions that I do I wake up very confused, heart pounding, shaky, etc. It's a horrible feeling but I think it's pretty harmless... DS does take a while to recover from it, last evening in fact he cried for a good 2 hours after waking up scared & shaking from his nap. (Of course he wasn't crying that whole time but he never truly calmed down, you know?)
