I normally dont post on here but I really need some help!
we were doing soooo good with ECing when DD was between 6 and 11mos old. She was only pooping in the potty, and about 80% of her pees were in the potty too. I was so excited thinking that we might be on the verge of graduating soon. But then when she was exactly 1 year old she got sick. (she got sick the night before her bday) she was throwing up and had really really bad diarrhea. After she got better ECing was pretty much out the window. She wasn't really holding it in anymore, and she wasn't giving off any signals. She also started to HATE being on the potty. and she used to stay dry almost the whole night, now she's peeing a couple times a night.
Occasionally I'd catch a few pees here and there, but it'd been a good month or more since I'd caught anything. She's now 16mos and is still on this potty strike. Which has really made me lose faith in ECing.
I've also gotten kinda lazy because I was starting to feel like there wasn't any use to it so i started keeping her in diapers pretty much all the time.
But I decided yesterday to really put more effort into ECing. I bought some more training pants and am going to commit to keeping her in the training pants all the time, except for sleeping and out of the house.
I've been rereading Diaper Free Baby, and I'm gonna reread Diaper Free Before 3.
Anyone have any tips or ideas? I was thinking of maybe trying a new potty. So far we've been using the baby bjorn, and I got a munchkin toilet reducer. My parent's also recently bought a new toilet seat for us and it came with a smaller seat in it.
Now it seems we actually made a little bit of progress. I got her to actually sit still on the potty after her nap, from which she woke up dry. I discovered that she likes to play with her blocks on the potty and after a good 2 mins of us playing with blocks she finally peed! I couldn't help it, I got really really excited and I think i startled her a little bit. lol And right before I was about to go out of the house and have my mom watch her I changed her into a diaper to make it easier on my mom and just as I grabbed my purse I noticed she was starting to grunt and got red faced, so I put her on the potty and she pooped!
