Hair growth

So I have noticed this pregnancy in particular that my body hair grows super fast, I shave and by a few hours later I have stubble... My belly and nipples are sprouting much more (and dark!) hair... And my nails grow so fast I have to clip them weekly instead of monthly...

I don't remember much about my hair growth with the first two except I remember shaving a few times with ds, who was born in January and in the winter I only shave when my hair gets so long it catches on my clothes and pulls... And dd I don't remember shaving towards the end though I was due in June and hate having leg/pit hair in warm weather.

What has been your experiences? I seriously feel like a werewolf!

The hair on my head grows pretty fast when I'm pregnant, typically. The chin hairs I sprouted somewhere along the way haven't disappeared during the pregnancy. As for the hair on my legs, I dunno, 'cause I haven't bothered shaving in about a month!

I am experiencing the same thing you are. My formerly slow-growing leg hair now has to be shaved each day, and my lower back and the sides of my belly (I am 25 weeks) are fuzzy, if not closer to furry, hehe. My nails are growing quite quickly, too. I guess it is fairly normal--many of my mother friends have told me about their pregnant "Chia nipples" and "gorilla limbs," and my midwife mentioned at my first prenatal appointment that I could start sprouting body hair in unexpected places. I guess pregnancy hormones are powerful stuff!

Ugh. I'm in this club. My bikini area is ridiculous - it now seems to stretch from my waist to, well, let's just say there is way too much area taken up by it... it's more like a tankini area. I blame the testosterone my baby is pumping out.

Luckily, I don't grow any leg hair to speak of, but my arms seem a bit hairier as does that spot where a man would have sideburns.

I'm wondering if I want to remove some. In my birth photos from last time I am astounded by how hairy I look. I know it shouldn't matter, but it really was a lot.

How's this for weird...I've only had to shave my legs every couple of months this pregnancy, but my armpits every single day.

I showed my gramma how hairy my stomach is today. Her reaction was WOW I have NEVER seen that before, I bet its a boy! (she had 4 girls so any symptom she never got = boy lol)

You know that light fuzzy hair you can have along your jawline? Mine has gotten really LONG and it is freaking me out to see fuzziness. It's downy-fine, and pale yellow, and I am afraid if I shave or wax it, the stubble will come in darker and thicker... maybe an unfounded fear, but I'm afraid to do anything about it! But ewww!

I would just trim it... thats what I do for my arm hair... it can get to be almost an inch long... so i have clippers that trim it down to a bit over a centimeter long. It doesnt grow back thicker/darker or leave me feeling fresh shaven (which is a feeling I appreciate on my legs but not my arms!)

my armpit hair and eye brows are growing like crazzy this pregnancy..

but my leg hair always slows/thins during pregnnacy.. i'm kind of excited about being pregnant in the summer this time because i won't have to shave as often if this pregnancy continues to be like my others..

i am also not getting hte hairy belly yet, but i usually do..

I've actually heard that fast-growing hair, nails, etc IS a common "boy symptom". Something about the hormones being different? I dunno.

I heard the same thing about girl babies, with the theory that "girl" pregnancies can have higher estrogen and that high estrogen (some of which can be converted to testosterone) can cause increased hair growth. There are so many interpretations of so many different symptoms, though, and what they can mean for the sex of the baby, that I don't really know. I do know that the baby causing me to be hairy is a little girl.

Has anyone else seen any relationship between hair growth and baby's sex? These things are just so interesting.

This is what I use: Surgi-Wax strips. They work awesome on mustache and jaw/chin hair. They absolutely will not make it grow back darker or thicker. If anything, it will be finer.

I didn't have any kind of extra hair at all with DS, but I DID get the linea nigra. The dark line that runs down the middle of your belly. Weird.. as I am quite fair skinned. (Brown hair, but freckly) I think I even still had it even after DS was over a year old. I forgot about that. Ohhh maybe I'll get lucky this time and be hairy annnnd have the black line down my stomach! Score!

LOL I have both too, my linea negra showed up within a week of my bfp (but Im of a weird ancestry, im very pale with dark hair and light eyes and freckly but I tan super easy so my marks get dark fast)

My hairy belly didnt show up until just a couple weeks ago... probably around 15 weeks? I didnt have it with either DS or DD... but from the things I find through google you are more likely to have a boy if you have it and just as likely to have a boy as you are to have a girl with the absence of it.

DFs reaction last night when I told him about it was: Well, you know, what else do you expect from a Marines son? LOL

I had to remind him that he is the least masculine male Marine I have EVER known.

The only thing I've noticed is my belly hair is much, much longer, fuzzier, and darker than it is normally and than it was with DD. (I am having a boy, by the way!)

Its ridiculous. My skin is super sensitive, shaving can give me a rash, and I'd rather not wax it... but its pretty gross. Its like my pubic hair has traveled up the trail to my belly button (well, not quite that bad, but similar hair texture). Problem is I can't even really see it anymore TO shave it!

I've never been a belly flaunter (its just never flat or tight enough)... but I do hope the hair growth decreases post-baby.

My fingernails and hair always grow faster in pgcy... but I think that's common, and has something to do with the prenatals and that you don't "shed" as much during pgcy.

Thats exactly the type of hairs Im talking about!

not the normal peach fuzz getting longer but that I actually have long black hairs. Im tempted to take a picture to show but uh... don't wanna make anyone sick from the sight

I use an epilator on mine (have a few pg or not) - why not just pluck them?
