Organic corn always has a worm in each ear?

Is this true? And, if so, is there anything I can do to prevent it? I have seen this before and was told it's in every peice of organic corn. And the worms are nasty: Fat and green and spikey. No, thank you!

Huh. I've eaten a LOT of organic corn and grown quite a bit too and in MY experience there is not a worm in every one. Very few actually. And I've found them in conventional corn anyway, so even corn riddled with pesticides doesn't guarantee you an inorganic experience

I don't think that's true at all, the organic corn from my garden almost never has worms. In comparison I've gotten plenty of wormy ears of corn from the Farmer's Market that aren't organic.

I think this is the same as my FIL telling me that I can't grow apple trees without pesticides because they'll all be filled with worms. Sure they are...and he also won't eat my fresh eggs because they aren't white and waxed like the ones from the grocery!

What? Not in my experience. I used to work at a produce stand with a friend's family and there was no organic stuff. Found worms all the time. The few times I've grown corn...only once but I left it on waaaay too long and actually forgot that stalk behind my mom's grape vines!

I can't find my reference but I recently read somewhere that a dropper of mineral oil dripped down the silks will stop worms. You need to do it about 4-5 days after the silks appear.
