TJ's Creamed Honey

Thread Starter
So I have a tub of Trader Joe's "Creamed Honey" and it says on the package: U.S. Grade Fancy - Unfiltered - Uncooked.

Does that mean it's raw? It's opaque and light in color, and is spreadable, but not liquid.

I'm not talking about the new product they have which is labeled "Raw Honey" - they have been carrying this creamed honey for quite a while.

What do you think?

Interestingly, I just recently saw a sign in our T.J.'s that said "Did you know that all of our honey is raw ?" . I wouldn't have assumed it before seeing the sign. If you want to be sure you could email them ( and then post on this thread when you get a reply ).

They are legally allowed to call it 'raw' as long as they haven't heated it above 120 degrees. If it doesn't contain all the capping and propolis that the bees put in, you can bet it's been heated to some extent, because it's difficult to get the honey flowing and strain it at a low temp. HTH!
