Origami folded flats

Someone please tell me why they seem so baggy in the thighs. Is ds not as chunky thighed as I thought? Am I doing something wrong?
I ordered a 3 pack trial from GMD and I really, really, really want these to work. I these diapers but the poo always escapes and ends up on my wool.
Help me please! I cannot keep washing wool like this.

TIA

I just got some flats and was having the same problem. I found a youtube vidio that showed a lot of that fold. If after you do the standard fold then fold the thigh area another inch or 2 and it will be more snug on there legs. I will try and find that vidio and add it to my post.

Alright I can't find it. I hope my description made sense. If not please let me know and I will post a pic of it or something.

This is exactly what I have been doing but didn't think I'd make any sense posting it.
It seems as if that extra little fold doesn't really do the trick or it unfolds or something. idk I have been trying to fold a little extra back into the leg opening but that doesn't even seem to matter.
I really want these dipes to work but I'm getting frustrated with the wool washing.

this is the baby we're talking about http://bringingupbeasts.blogspot.com/ Not exactly what one would call thin.

I noticed the origami fold was a bit baggy on my daughter's thighs. I kind of tuck everything in jelly-roll-ish after I pin on the diaper, and that helps. here I thought it was just because I was new to folding flats.

What a cute little chunk! Have you tried the kite fold? Or you can just fold it like a prefold and put it on with the jelly roll fold for the prefold.

I always rolled the thigh part like a french twist for hair. Basically start rolling a very narrow bit at the front of the thigh and then as you go along the triangle, more and more fabric gets in until there's a couple inches of fabric in the roll at the back.

More or less a rolled version of Katie T's suggestion to do an extra fold on each side. I found that rolling held together better than folding and was easier to adjust if things were slightly off center because of my basic origami fold.

ETA: Okay, it's a "jelly roll" but since it's being done to a tapered edge, it tapers too.

I also found that it held and fit better if I did the rolling before pinning. Trying to tuck things in after pinning resulted in them falling out sooner or later, usually sooner.

I also had to roll it TIGHT. http://pigsandponies.blogspot.com/20...nch-twist.html see the bottom twist on the double french twist hairstyle? Tight like that. Otherwise the diaper fabric can squirm its way out and loosen the whole thing and you get saggy drawers.

Here is my LO in an organmi flat fold at one month and around 6.5lbs the legs need to be pulled tight and rolled in if done right you can get a nice leg fit..
