Los Angeles lactation consultant

Thread Starter
I am a new mother (3 months) in LA/Hollywood, looking for a good lactation consultant in the area. I've been supplementing (using SNS, formula and pumped breastmilk) since week 4 at the advice of one consultant in response to slow weight gain and low milk supply. But she was not too helpful/hopeful in my goal of weaning off of the supplements. I'd like to find someone who can evaluate at this point and provide better support as I work off the supplements and continue to increase supply.

If anyone has had a similar experience with the help of a great LC...or just a great LC recommendation, I would appreciate names!

The Pump Station in Santa Monica is a good resource.

Amazing amazing incredible LC is Roza Baghdassarian. Can't speak highly enough of her skill and compassion, she has a master's in LC and is a mom:

I've spent a lot of time at the Pump Station, mostly at their support groups and always heard good advice. Never worked with their LCs in particular. I prefer the westside LLL to the West Hollywood one...

I've also had very good advice from Medela's free LC email service, including one time when the person told me I was basically whining about not having an oversupply with my second kid. (And she was right...)

In terms of weight gain, etc., the threads here are always very helpful if you have questions about what is really reasonable etc.
