When did you put sibs together to sleep?

And how did you do it? I have an almost-5 y/o and would love to put the almost-2 y/o in there with him. They'd both have their own twin bed with a bed rail. I'd love any BTDT experiences or tips on how to do this--DS2 has been sleeping (and night nursing) with me for almost 2 yrs and I'm ready for a change. And some sleep!!!!!

I put my boys together when they were 5 and 2. They'd both coslept until then and were both still nursing, but nightweaned. We put them in a full size bed together. It took some firm reminders for a while but they both managed okay. They got bunk beds a few months later but still, at 7 and 4, tend to sleep in the same bunk at night.

DD moved from our room into her big brother's room when she was 4 months and he was almost 4 years. She was, of course, still night nursing, but DS never woke up when I went in there to feed her. They shared until just last week when we moved (they're 5.5 and almost 2 now), and they really enjoyed it!

We moved my second in with her brother at about 7-8 months (him in twin, her in crib), and both were fine. She was still waking once or twice at night, and he would sleep right through her nightwakings. For me, it made the whole bedtime routine thing easier to have them in the same room, just do it all together. Once we get our office fixed up as an office/guest room, we will have another transition...DS will be in by himself and both my girls will be in what is now our guest room together. I think it will be fine again too, and in my experience the younger one does better with an older sibling than by themselves anyway.
