really dry skin on a one month old

DD's skin is dry and tends to flake across the forehead, nose, and scalp. Its not cradle crap. I'm only bathing every three days or so, but I'm wondering what I can use to combat it. And she's got baby acne on her cheeks - poor thing!

We used organic coconut oil on DS's baby acne and diluted vegetable glycerin on the rest of his body when he was a baby. He has super-dry skin and that not only helped, but since they're both food-grade I could use it near his mouth and on his hands, and didn't worry if he licked or ate some. (Be careful not to get the glycerin near her eyes, though. It stings! Just use a tiny drop on her forehead and rub it in well and she'll be fine.)

Oh, and we didn't use soap on any part of DS except his hands, feet and diaper area.

DD had really dry skin for the first 2 months - mostly feet and hands and some on her forehead. We used olive oil on her hands and feet a few times and then basically just left it and it went away. Same with the baby acne...she had it on her cheeks for about 2-3 weeks and we did nothing and it went away.

my ds had that too ... i think its just the "in the belly" skin flaking off ? thats what it seemed like to me... we use Ca Rezz cream which is soooo good for tons of things ... even pimples. look it up

My midwife said not to worry (also hands and feet and head on my little one)... she said they are growing so fast the first few months that many sort of burst out of their skin. So it's not dry skin... just old skin being discarded as it becomes too small. I never put anything on it and it went away a few weeks later.
