PURPOSE: For many, childbirth is one of the most amazing, fulfilling experiences of one’s life. However, unforeseen, difficult, disappointing, and sometimes traumatic events in your birthing experience may leave women and their partners feeling confused, shocked, hurt, isolated and empty. With these unexpected births, many women will feel a sense of failure. Giving birth to a healthy baby is always important, but does not automatically erase a mother’s or parent’s feelings of inadequacy related to their birth.
The Birth Light support group is a safe place for women and partners to gather into a supportive community who needs to process through unexpected and sometimes traumatic birth experiences. Birth Light is a place to tell your story and listen to others’ stories as we begin to weave through the process of healing.
Birth Light is for anyone who feels they may need support in working through their childbirth experience, regardless of how long it’s been since their birth.
