Measurements for a woven wrap

Thread Starter
Hi, I'm sewing a woven wrap for my baby, and I'm wondering about the best measurements. I've read a couple of sites that say a wrap should be 28-30 inches wide. But other sites have said 20 inches wide. I've got 6 yards of 52 inch wide linen. I could cut it in half and, allowing for shrinkage and hems, still have two wraps about 25 inches wide -- or, I could cut it so it is about 30 inches wide and just have a big strip left over which I could probably find something to do with. Obviously it would be nice to have the two wraps and not have the strip left over to find some use for, but not if that isn't a wide enough wrap. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Donna

I'm not math savvy, but I think most woven wraps are 70 cm (all of mine are)

30 inches would be great for a toddler, but might be overwhelming with a smaller baby. You could definitely get away with doing 2 25" wide wraps, even if you are wrapping a toddler that width would be fine for multi-layer carries. HTH!

I agree that you could get away with 25 inches for each wrap. Most woven wrap are between 25 and 30 inches. A lot of people like extra width for a toddler, but I don't find I need extra width and I'm wrapping a 2.5 year old.
