The man can walk in a get a vas with no consent from his wife, but the wife can't get her tubes tied without her DH signing consent.
Yeah, that bugs me too.

DH is home. A little sore, but fine. Sitting on the couch with a bag of frozen peas on his crotch. He walked in the door and said, "I love you. VERY much." Love you too, babe. He just asked me for a pillow and I sighed and rolled my eyes at him and said, "geez...you're such a BABY." I'm such a good wife.

You know, when you've had a baby at 30wks, getting to 40+1 feels like EONS longer.

Is she the birth whisperer, or is she just trying to psych us out so she can be the last preggo standing?!!

Loveneverfails, your mind control is not going to work on me!

I am an idiot. I realized that the charger for my iphone would probably work to charge my ancient ipod that has Hypnobabies on it. I thought "If I get an extension cord, I could plug it in during labor and not run down the battery". I went and got a cheap extension cord today and then realized that I probably didn't want to be using a plugged in ipod while I was in the tub of water. That probably isn't the best idea, is it?

I am off to charge my ipod now and plan to keep it charged until I do go into labor. We don't have a portable CD player to use so the ipod/iphone is the only option I can think of unless we go buy a CD player (which we would probably never use again so I'd rather not spend the money on that).

Sure, just keep thinking that, LaughingFox. WE'LL SEE WHO WILL BE LAUGHING ON THE GOLDEN BIRTHING STOOL COME NEXT WEEK!

Sara's being awfully quiet here and on Twitter. Hmmmm... how long before we vote her off the island?

I say we give her at least another 21 minutes..

sandcastle, you're making me miss my iPod. *sniff* My screen cracked when I hit 36 weeks.

Were you referring to LaughingFox's temperament or her cervix?

I'm heading out to my midwife appointment in a few. I'll let you know my cervix status when I get back.

Is anyone else completely out of minutes on their cell phone plan because of all the "is the baby here yet?" phone calls?

Hi mamas! Just checking in. We ended up having a hospital birth after all however we have got the LOVELIEST little girl ever and as actual hospital births/inductions go mine wasn't too horrendous. I will be posting a birth story when I have time, but we're still at the hospital (the just do NOT like to let you leave!!!!) and we have to pick up ds on the way home and the SO is working doubles all weekend...so, back to real life now. I was thinking of you guys while I was laboring and when I hit transition I thought to myself, "maybe I SHOULD just wait til 2016, this HURTS!!!!"

So.....I'm out the club......but lots of labor vibes to those of you still hanging in there.....I will catch up on the thread when I have time.

We definitely expect the State of the Cervix Address following your 41 week victory lap, LaughingFox. Make sure to take detailed notes.

I was hoping she'd not catch the cervix reference so that I could subliminally kick her out of the club...

You don't get the freak out moment ... ever? Where you turn into a pile of whining and goo, and then one day you wake up and you're ok and then within 6 days you have a baby? Hmmm...

Sara's still not talking on Twitter. I think she's in labor. Sara ALWAYS talks on Twitter. Hasn't been heard from in 3 hours now.

I am voting her off the island. YOU ARE OUT, SARA! OUT! JUST LIKE YOUR BABY (HOPEFULLY) IS!!!

I've been MIA for a while but hello again ladies.

It's odd but I'm feeling better, almost normal, for the first time in a while. Like I've gotten used to my huge, unwieldy body if that makes sense. Which is a good thing since I will definitely still be pregnant long into 2016 and possibly beyond.
Hey, buddy!

In your dreams! MW just left - things look good, but still at 2cm, closed inner os. Maybe 80% effaced.

She's definitely voting stomach bug instead of labor.

I think I;m going for the "voted off the island most" award.
Aww, that really stinks, Sara. I hope you get over the bug FAST and can get on to labor. What rotten timing.

That's too funny. The first thing I said to DH when I called him after the appointment was "Are you ready for my State of the Cervix Address?

I'm 1.5 cm, and my cervix is still "so thick that trying natural induction methods at this point might be a bit like trying to push a sled uphill."

The rest of you may as well give up now. That golden birthing stool is MINE! :nana

In all seriousness, baby is doing well; movement is good and baby has good heart tones and responds to being poked and prodded. I'm not swelling, and my blood pressure is still 115/65ish.

I have to admit, though, I'm going to be a mess if I have a 43 weeker. I can only be calm, cool, and collected up to 42 weeks. Going past that seriously harshes my mellow.

Today's labor induction method: Since walking isn't working, let's try walking with a toddler in the back carry on your Mei Tai!

I hope you don't hit 43 weeks, because if you hit 43 weeks I'll have to go past 41 and I'd really rather not.
