Anyone know about reverse osmosis water filters?

We're thinking about getting a serious water filter for our condo. Does anyone know about the different ones available or have one they like? If we get one installed, can we take it with us when we move later this summer, or will it become part of the plumbing?

Thanks!

Generally they are installed into the plumbing, however there is at least one RO unit that attaches to the sink faucet. I don't have the information on it right at the moment.

(Google: countertop RO system)

We have one that we rent through a water filtration company (Culligan). I think there are many places you can rent one through. We own our home and had it installed. If we move, they take it out and put it into our new place for us.
