Good old fashion chic lit??

I am in desperate need of something light and fluffy to read. After reading so many parenting books and some depressing ones (Eating animals), I am craving an easy page turner not unlike Marian Keyes. Anyone out there have some yummy chic lit book recs??

If you like Marian Keyes, you'll love Catherine Alliott. She's an english author who writes similar books, really LOL funny... Marian's been quoted as saying Catherine's perhaps her favourite author.

Ditto Cathy Kelly (irish author like Marian). Light fluffy womanly fun, less risque than Marian or Catherine Alliott (not that they're racy exactly lol).

Penny Vincenzi is great (english author).... she writes big sweeping family sagas full of betrayal & rags/riches stuff, good modern escapism.

I love Julie Ellis (american author, she's dead now). She's written a tonne of chick lit, lots of older-style drama.... war romances & southern fight-daddy-for-the-plantation type gooey stuff, delish!

Sophie Kinsella (english author) writes modern light fluffy girly stuff (ie, the Shopaholic series)

Here's a good one. Range of Motion by Elizabeth Berg. Husband's in a coma. Will he wake up? Sounds heavy, but it's more on the lite side.

Definitely the Twilight Saga: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.
It is light, fun, a real page turner and leaves you with a good feeling.

I love the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands. Light, fun vampire/romance. Some humor but more romance.

I adore Jennifer Weiner. Adore her. But, I HATED her last book with a passion. I didn't even finish it. I can't remember the last time I hated a book so much I couldn't finish it. But, any of her other books are fantastic.

I agree about Emily Griffin - I loved Something Borrowed and Something Blue.

I also highly recommend going back and reading the young woman lit you loved in your preteen and teen years. I reread a bunch of Judy Blume a few years ago and it was really enjoyable. I think I'll do it again. Good reminder of some emotions and angst as my own dd's get closer to those years.

Jen Lancaster, Bitter is the New Black et al. (and her site "Jennsylvania" has some posts that can save you the trouble of reading or watching Twilight. Or at least let you know if you want to.)

Love in Translation and Midori by Moonlight by Wendy Tokunaga are both good (and Love in Translation will also conveniently give you at least 70% of everything you need to know to get 90% of manga sort of an instant culture unshock)
