Help me go grain free, please!

Hi,

I am trying very hard to go grain free and my goal is eventually to go full paleo. It has been two days since I've had anything with any sort of grain. It's mostly been a bit of cheese, different meats, apples and salad.

I want SO MUCH to just pig out on carbs/sugars that I am having a hard time concentrating. I have "food issues," and my biggest issue is indulging in carbs. I am distracted by thoughts of cake right now.

I know this is what I need to do, but I don't know if I can do it. Please give me idea about what I can eat that may help to satisfy these crazy cravings. I feel like I'm going bananas!

Well, at the beginner stage I allow myself all I of safe food. Like making sure I have lots of meat and eggs available and eat as much as I want(with plenty of fat as well). Once I get a good fill of those if I still want the sugar I indulge in fruit or v. dark chocolate. Upping the fat and protein helps a lot w/ the cravings.

Lots and lots of snacks - plenty of protein and fat. Satiate the hunger. The first week is the hardest as your body adjusts.

ITA with PP--lots of fat and protein do wonders for the cravings (talking to a former jelly bean addict). One trick I found helpful is to learn that every meal consists of meat or protein and vegetables. Sounds limiting but there are actually a ton of options and it's easier--every few days I grab a few packages of meat out of the freezer and then at night I grab one from the fridge and pair it with a veggie. Easy peasy
