Condoms and Withdrawal... Overkill?

My boyfriend and I have given up on Oral Contraceptives and are going to start using condoms. He wants to continue pull out, in addition to using the condoms. I am wondering what anyones opinion is on this. To me it seems like overkill, but then again, I wouldn't mind a baby right now. Where as he would rather wait until after the wedding. Please give me your opinion, experiences.

It sounds to me like it is really important to him to delay having another child until after the wedding. You can certainly talk about having another child with him, but if it is that important to him to wait then I would respect that. If he feel safer using both methods then what harm will come. Unless you are feeling like using both methods would diminish your sex life. Then, you might want to take that approach. Arent condoms like 98%effective? Good luck.

Not overkill. We do condoms and w/d until I ovulate (we chart as well) and then just condoms starting a few days after ovulation. Yeah, we don't want any babies right now. Lol.

Not overkill at all. Condoms have a pretty high failure rate, even when used correctly.
Both partners get to take control of their fertility. If he doesn't want a baby until after the wedding, you gotta respect his choice to take measures to prevent pregnancy.

i would say it is overkill if you are open to a baby, but not if you're not..

i am pregnant with a withdrawl baby, and i know several condom babies.. it can't hurt to double up..

I wouldn't say overkill, just cautious. DBF is extremely paranoid and not open to babies right now, so is only 100% comfortable with BCP for me, condoms for him and plus me letting him know when I'm fertile so he can withdraw. That I kind of see as overkill...
