DS is 6 months old now, we're still very part-time (no signals, etc.)

Just wanted to pop in and say hi w/ an update. Last time I posted, I said that I wanted to do a plan where I offer after every sleep, even if his diaper was wet and even if he keeps going in his diaper right after the offering.

I haven't been doing that, lol. I have been offering "enough" though that we generally have about 1-2 catches/day, usually after one of his longer naps. I still cannot catch those elusive poos, lol. Silly baby only poops like once every 3-5 days so it's not like I have very many opportunities to see his signals or lack thereof.

Speaking of signals, he's still not signaling at all for pee, either, so we're still "stuck" doing timing. But if he has to go when I am offering, then it usually only takes him about 15 seconds or so, which I think is an improvement from before.

We're going out of town next week and will be diapering conventionally while driving, but I do plan on packing the BBLP and using it at Mom's house. (She asked me why I didn't just hold him over the potty anymore and I mentioned the aiming issue, lol.)

I saw a post on a natural-parenting Facebook group from someone who said that she'd never seen any EC'd baby who didn't grauduate by age 2. I figure that's for the people who do it way more "full-time" than I do. I'm throwing thoughts and hopes of an early graduation out of my head b/c 1) that's not what ECing is about and 2) he wouldn't do it anyway since he doesn't signal.

He's still pretty much immobile. He can roll from back to front but it takes him a while to dislodge that one arm. He cannot sit up unassisted yet, nor can he roll from tummy to back. So it'll be interesting to see how ECing changes once he can move a little more.

Anyway just wanted to give an update and see if anyone had any encouraging words or anything. Not that I need any. I really feel relaxed and stress-free about it. Yes, even about the no signals part, lol. Ok well maybe not that. But that's only a minor speed bump in our journey.

right. i don't think graduations dates matter all that much. each kid is different.

truth is, it cuts down on labor for us, and we are happy with it. so we do what we do. he will graduate when he is ready.

and it will be before he graduates from high school, i'm sure.
