I did it! My son is 6 1/2 I was on prozac while pregnant and when nursing. we nursed until one month before his 3rd birthday.
He is a normal, very bright boy.
I sufferd from PPD with my first and a had a physoctic episode with my 2nd at 11 months. with my 3rd everything was much better, no PPD.

its so great that you reached out! I know how hard it can be. keep asking for help untill someone hears you. Your worth it

D'smomma, I did not have ppd (baby is 3 months) but in the past I suffered from depression and was on zoloft and prozac at different points. But what what I found worked best for me for depression was EPA/DHA (fish oil) supplements and B vitamins. (Snarky also mentioned these.) Are you perhaps a vegetarian? Vegetarians are low on these nutrients.

I was sure, because of my past history, that I was going to get ppd. So during pregnancy I doubled my fish oil dose, and it's still doubled now that I'm breastfeeding. If you're deficient and you start supplementing, you'll feel the differenece in 3 or 4 days.

I sincerely hope you begin to feel better.

Sorry you're going through this. If you are deadset on not taking meds, how about yoga? It helps me immensely in alleviating my back pain and if I practice daily, also lifts depression symptoms.

If you are still looking for a group, check out your area in the finding my tribe board up top.
