Birth boards and affirmations

Anyone else working on a birth board? I've never done it before and always thought it wouldn't do much for me. But I kept envisioning this birth board and finally got up and made one. I think it will be pretty helpful since my last birth was extremely traumatic. I thought i'd do a lot more artwork on it, but its mostly words. DH is going to write my affirmations down for me (he has MUCH nicer handwriting than I do) tonight and then it will be complete. I have a list going and thought i'd see what other's birth affirmations are.

I've never heard of that. Very cool, though! I tend to tunnel in on *one* thing during most of my labor. My last labor it was my birth beads from the DDC. Might be fun to expand that to include more affirmations, though. Perhaps I wouldn't get to the "6cm? I can't do this anymore! I need the dang needle in my back!" lol (never did get that, thanks to my wonderful dh who reminded me that I would hate myself if I did.)

These are some of my favorite affirmations though. I have been waiting to commit to more until I know where and how I'll be birthing.

Ohhh what a great list! I love them!

I have yet to add mine to my board lol. But i have them on stickies through out the house whenever i think of one.

DDC crashing. I love this idea! I want to get some poster board and make one now.

I'm not doing a natural birth, but I think this is a great idea for any momma during labor. I think I'm going to have to make one as well. DF might think me strange, but hey, he's not the one pushing a baby out her hoo-ha.

This could be used for ANY birth, IMO. Just something to focus on when you are going through it all. And it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, never a bad thing
