home birth after 2 c-sections

hello,
I am writing because I have a midwife for my current pregnancy, and am planning a home birth after 2 low transverse c-sections. Prince is now 5, and Princess turned 3 in March of this year.

I had to get a midwife due to the fact that no obgyn would allow me a trial of labor due to my two previous c-sections. I have been very traumatized by my previous c-sections, and there is no way I am going to have another one electively.

I do not have any support here- my ex-husband has my two oldest children, and I get them every other weekend. The current father of my baby is so flaky, and in and out, i cannot rely on him for stability. My grandmother lives 2 hours away and is unable to travel (in fact i go to her and take her shopping every other weekend) and my mother lives in Wyoming (i am in south Texas) and is not very interested with me as she is happy with her boyfriend.

I will be alone at the birth, except of course, my midwife and her assistants. It would be even worse for me, I believe to be alone, in a hospital, after a c-section. At least I am comfortable and have my infant with me, at home, and not in nursery.

So if any of you ladies have words of encouragement, support, or stories to share, I would love to know.

awww hugs..can you find a doula that may help be a good friend and birth assistant. She may also help after the birth to clean, cook, things like that for a week or so. You'll find a lot of support here for HBA2C. Lots of luck to you.

I just had a HBA2C eight days ago! It was a wonderful experience and I'm so glad I choose to try. My recovery has been so much better and bfing has been much easier this time. I posted my birth story in the birth story area if you'd like to read it. Good luck in what you decide!
