wheatgrass growing help

Hi all,

DH and I are thinking about starting to grow wheatgrass as it seemed easy and we live in an apartment where we are limited to how much things we can grow(we just have a small concrete patio). I have been researching and listening to videos and now I am more confused. I thought we would just plant it in some soil, water and grow..

Now..I learn we need to "sprout" it first indoors(no need for sun?) while doing a few rinses and coverings until it sprouts a few inches and then take it outside where it can then get sun?

The video I watched the guy did it on a 'baby blanket'(is that just the normal flannel sheets?) can I just use dirt?

I notice they said that the seeds are just wheatberries, is that the same wheatberries we can get from those organic stores that sells in bulk that I can use.

Also I lot of sites I have been to are selling these trays for them..cant I use anything that holds dirt or even cheap trays from dollar stores or walmart?

ohh..one more thing..I once saw a website posted on a thread that told us what zone we lived in and what we can grow at a certain time if you happen to now it can you post that also thanks

I know I am asking alot in this thread, I have been meaning to come and ask things put didn't have the time..

TIA

Are you wanting to grow this for the grass or to harvest wheat? And are you looking to grow it inside or outside? A little confused as to what you are asking.

I am looking to grow and juice it. I am confused in how to go about it. I read things about people doing it inside and then taking it outside. I read about it being done mostly inside and while some do it outside. I am trying to figure out what is the best route or does it even matter. Does one provide more nutrients than the next.
