Need lactation help in Austin or surrounding area

I live in Georgetown and just had my 3rd baby. I am needing some help with my baby's latch. The right side seems to be ok but the left is, YIKES OUCH.

Any recommendations?

The IBCLCs at Special Addition are great! I don't know if that's too far for you or if they go all the way to Georgetown, but I'd give them a call.

I have also heard good things about Special Addition. You could also try Kathy Clark at A Baby's Best Start. Her office is right behind North Austin Medical Center. 873-0700. I didn't use he as a LC but did attend her breastfeeding class. She's an RN so insurance might cover it. Good luck!

One other thing to consider (maybe you already have) is chiropractic or cranial-sacral. My son wouldn't latch well at all on the left and it turned out it was positioning issues in-utero and due to birth. Lots of improvement after the first visit, but we still had to go back for a second.

There are people in town who do cranial-sacral, I found mine on the cranial academy website (google it), I actually saw a chiropractor who's since moved away, but if you look on icpa4kids.org you should find someone, if you don't already have a practitioner.
