10mo old wants to nurse MUCH more frequently

My 10mo old DD has started wanting to nurse MUCH more frequently; more than every 2 hours. In addition, she sometimes wakes in the evening after we put her down (but before we go to bed) and wants to nurse (even though she nursed prior to bedtime, usually only 30min to an hour earlier). I waiver back and forth wondering if this is a separation issue, a growth spurt issue, both, neither, etc. any insight?

FWIW, she has multiple food intolerances and eats very few solids. She is almost exclusively BF.

It could be any of those things! Or teeth! Or perhaps she has a little cold.

I drove myself batty trying to determine why my daughter's nursing needs fluctuated from time to time and, honestly, the only thing that helped me was letting go and letting her lead. Unless you suspect your daughter has a serious issue (an infection, a high fever, etc,) roll with it.

Sorry about your sleep and sanity! But this too shall pass.

I read somewhere that it can be a sign that their appetite for solids is about to increase. I can't remember where, sorry. I do alot of reading on when and how to introduce solids safely because my DD also has multiple food intolerences and I am planning on delaying solids.

It got better for a few days and now she has really started clinging to me. I am confident that this is a phase, but I don't know how to best handle it. If she wants to stay latched longer than she's eating should I just let her? If she wants to nurse every hour is that OK?

I completely agree w/ other replies, just roll with it. It is fine to nurse lo as much as she wants, she may be working to increase supply. My lo's have always nursed alot more, been very clingy and restless when getting teeth or a cold.
