Laminating your own prints

Is it worth it to do it yourself?

I really have no clue as to what is involved in the process, so if someone could enlighten me, that'd be great. And is it really more cost effective than trying to find prints that have already been laminated by someone else?

My thought was that I'd try to start sewing them into my mama cloth. Then there would be the waterproof layer AND the cute print.

There is only one company that does the laminating, Fabrite The minimum is 3 yards, but you lose a few inches a yard, so it's best ot have longer yardage. Their prices run from about $3 - $ per yard, depending on the thickness (1 or 2 mil) and the kind and extras like Teflon coating. It can take anywhere form a week or 2 to a month, depending on how busy they are.

You can find Co-ops sometimes where everyone sends their fabric to one person who sends it in.
