Sidecarring when baby becomes mobile?

We have LOVED our crib sidecar arrangement thus far but I think we need to make some changes now that LO can roll across the room and is trying desperately to crawl! What to do now? Right now to put her down, we lie down with her (nurse or just cuddle) in our bed, then just put pillows around her until we go to bed, when we move her into her crib (sidecar).

What did you do when LO became mobile? I'm considering putting both our mattress & the crib mattress on the floor, or putting the side back on the crib, keeping it attached to our bed, so she's right there. But that would be kind of a pain to get her in & out of in the middle of the night for nursing. Or get a video monitor?

Thanks in advance!

I say on the floor, it solves the most issues for the longest period of time in my expereince.

I was just going to post this exact same question! We did things a little backwards...we actually had our mattress on the floor for the past month, and just side-carred the crib to our bed this past weekend (DH is not a fan of having the matress on the floor). Now I am having issues with when I get up to get ready for work, how do I keep LO safe if he wakes up and I'm not there? I am going to use sheet-stays and attach a body pillow to our matress right beside the crib, but Lucas is scooting over and around pillows and stuff now so I am not sure what to do. Having the matress on the floor was really inconvenient, since DH doesn't want to take the bed frame out of our room, and we were sleeping sideways on the queen size matress b/c Lucas was taking up half the bed. So the side-car works great, but I don't know how to keep him safe in the mornings.
