Babyhawk question

Thread Starter
DD is about 4.5 months old but somewhat small (yet fat) for her age. I've been wearing her in a Moby so far. We recently got a BH MT and I think we have the front carry down but is it too early for the back carry? And how do you get a baby in there by yourself? I'd really like to be able to wear her on my back...

I just put my 1 month old in a "high back carry" in my Babyhawk for the first time this morning, and she fell asleep instantly. Mission accomplished.

There are several ways to get a kiddo onto your back, and it depends on what you're comfortable with and what your kid is comfortable with. I started with my first DD propped on the couch and me scooting over towards her. I quickly graduated to twisting her over my shoulder.

It's hard to explain, but if you go to YouTube and do a search on Mei Tai back carry, you'll bring up a lot of videos that will give you a better idea of how to do it.

Watch some videos on you tube!
My DS loved being front carried, I just switched him at a year
I practiced over a bed for the first few times to make sure I didnt drop him

I agree w/the youtube videos of back carries... tho I have yet to get it roght w/the MT! I started wrapping and love it and do back carries every day w/my little guy. I tried the high back carry (HBC) and it should work. I just need to practice more and prefer wraps so I never aced it.
Good luck Mama!

i started carrying dd2 on my back around 3 months (when she had good head control). i like the hip scoot technique to get her back there but it totally depends on the person what works best for them!
