Question for those who check cervical position

OK, this is kind of a weird thing to ask...but I don't know where else to ask this question! I've heard about checking cervical position in the past and tried it and always remembered that I never felt like I could feel my cervix. I am reading a book that describes how to do it so again today I tried to check it...and I feel like I can't reach it! (TMI possibly, but kinda hard to ask the question without disclosing that! Sorry!) I admit to feeling a little squeamish about it (just because for whatever reason I feel like it's going to hurt) so maybe that's affecting me...but nonetheless I tried and still felt like I had room to go. Any ideas, suggestions...??? Thanks!

it's in there somewhere! if it's in high position, if you are o'ing, it could be way back, and it might be tilted up or down. but somewhere back there you will feel a knobby thing that has the consistancy of either your nose or bottom lip, depending where you are at in your cycle. for me, it's lower at night than it is in the morning, so maybe try it at night time. i do it (always with clean hands) while sitting on the toilet- that is by far the easiest position for me.

Yep, what the PP said...

I had a HARD time reaching mine as well b/c I have pretty short fingers. What I found was that it was easier to put my leg up on the side of the tub or check while I was on the toilet so that things were all scrunched down a bit. Just make sure that if you do that you always check it in the same position.

If you still have problems check it closer to af or if you can stand it, during or right after af. Your cervix should be at its lowest then and you can have an easier time ID'ing it.
