Ergo and hot weather? Help?

Hi mamas,
We're going to Costa Rica next month. Can you all remind me what the Ergo is like in hot weather? We used it last summer exclusively, and I don't recall it being uncomfortable for either DD or me. She was in a front carry then. She's in a back carry now. Will it be a problem? Will we be too hot? Diaper rash concerns (CD)?
We don't use a stroller, but could borrow one to take with us if you wise mamas think it would be smart. She goes in one with her grandma, so would be fine in one, I think.
The other thing is sun protection, but I'm hoping she'll wear her sun hat without much complaint. Or we could use a brolly.
Advice?
Tips?

I used my ergo all last summer with ds on my back - no problems.

Where are you going in CR? The coast can be pretty humid but if you're more in the mountains or central valley it can actually get quite coolish in the evenings.

Enjoy your trip!

Oh & I wouldn't bother with a stroller - much of the country is pretty stroller unfriendly with lack of sidewalks or very rough ones. Safer ime to have baby on you.

Thanks for the relies, lifeguard!
My auntie and uncle live in the mountains, so we will be there for home base, but will do day trips. You're right, I hadn't thought about it, but it will be much cooler in the mountains! And thanks for pointing out that the pathways will likely be un-stroller friendly. Probably even more so if we got a cheapo umbrella stroller.
