Mama and Baby yoga

We went to our first class today - it was so much fun even despite DS wanting to nurse for the first 15 minutes. Afterwards though he just lay there and smiled at me while I exercised or watched the instructor walk around. I wish I've done this earlier!

glad you had a good time! I have been meaning to go to mom and baby yoga class that I found for moms with crawlers-toddlers. I also found a mommy fitness class where you wear your baby while you do exercise. not really sure how that works out, but it sounds interesting!

ooh, I am so excited! There is a class near me that is having a free trial next week and I am signed up to try it out. I hope DS is in good spirits for it - I miss me some yoga!!

We started Mom/Baby yoga 6 weeks ago and it is great! Maia loves the baby massage and lying on the floor while I do plank above her, lol

Sounds fun, I wish they offered a class like that around here.

I am a kids yoga teacher, so when I brought my baby to my first "mommy and me yoga" class I was soo excited and confident that it was all going to go great and perfect.....so, of course my little angel decided to remind me that everything has changed.
Yep, cried (and he is a loud crier) most of the class. I ended up swaddling him and spent most of class holding him.
So it goes, all moms in class were very supportive, adn the teacher reminded us that all of the energy in the class can be overwhelming for a little one. Seems that the first class is often hard for many babies.
I keep returning, and it keeps getting better, but really Ijust have one of those babies who wants to be held all of the time, so I mostly do poses I can hold him in.

I've done 8 mommy and me yoga session, but found, that I had to focus a lot on my baby instead of the exercises. I really prefer doing the yoga by myself and my dh watching him and then spend time with my babe. During mommy and me yoga I found that I did neither really focus on my babe nor myself.

Our class is definitely focused on baby. I take regular yoga classes for myself. I think the best thing about our class is that I can concentrate all of my energy toward her and have no other distractions like wash, dishes, older sibs...and the list goes on, lol!
