HELP! Do I do this interview?!

I'm currently 32 week preggo. I was at a professional conference last weekend where I met someone at the job expo. We chatted for a while and I gave him my curriculum vitae. I didn't think anything would come of it because I am obviously preggo, I work in a male dominated field, and he didn't indicate that there was immediate job opportunities with his firm.

To my surprise, he emailed me today and yesterday wanting to know when I could fly out for an interview! I'm ecstatic, but also scared. Maybe he didn't notice I was preggo? But how could he not notice? My schedule is totally packed and the soonest I could go would be in two weeks - after the end of the semester. This is much closer to the due date then I would like to be traveling - especially for a stressful interview.

Should I go anyway and just figure that he was so impressed with my CV that it didn't matter that I'm about to have a baby? Or what? I'm so overwhelmed and tired from everything else I have going on that I can't hardly think straight. Your advice is sorely needed!

Go! Just think of it as an opportunity to find out about the company and talk about yourself. It sounds like you are not desperate for a job, so no pressure either way.

go!

i got my job 34 weeks pregnant its almost an advantage since they knew i wasn't going to give birth in the middle of the semester.

Yes, totally go. There's no way he could've missed the belly, right? A firm that would knowingly consider a woman who is about to give birth sounds like a winner, in my opinion. I mean, given that there is no logical basis for a discrimination claim at this point, they must really like you.

You should go!! You must have really impressed them. Just try to make it as stressless as possible... I know much easier said than done. Good Luck!

Thanks for the encouragement! It's hard not to be suspicious or jaded, yk. Jobs have been so few and far between lately and this would be my first real chance for an awesome full-time position since I completed my PhD last year. The interview is set for May 11-12th - I'll be 35 weeks preggo. Let's hope this little one doesn't decide to come early! Wish me luck!
