I have a new phone, which the other day stopped working in that it whenever I tried to talk on it, the other person couldn't hear my voice or anything, yet I could hear them and receive calls and make calls.
So I checked in the battery compartment on the back of the handset piece and there was all this liquid stuff dripping out! So i figured the battery must have been leaking.
I threw those batteries away, left the phone overnight to dry out thoroughly, then put new batteries in it today. It worked fine during a call earlier, but I was just sat next to it when I heard a sudden fizzing pop sound, checked in the battery compartment of the phone, and one of the new batteries is leaking again...so I guess it burst open which is what I heard.
What the heck....why is this happening? Is the phone faulty? I used different batteries to replace the old ones from a new packet, so it can't be the batteries. Do you think the phone is faulty?
FYI its a cordless phone with the base unit plugged into an electric socket, and the handset piece slots in on top....is the base unit maybe getting too hot which is causing the area near the batteries, where it slots into the base unit, to get too hot, making them burst like that?
