Hayfever worse than ever this year, HELP!

What might help my hayfever? It's been really bad for 2 weeks, almost constantly running nose, sneezing quite often during the day, itchyness in back of mouth/throat, and the worse part is my eyes....oh they are so sore! And very itchy, I can't help rubbing/poking my left one at times, which has made it now bloodshot everyday as soon as I start rubbing it which I can't help doing at times! It feels really sore.

I've tried one type of non-drowsy over the counter allergy medication, and now im trying a drowsy one out of desperation! It's my third day on them and there's no improvement or difference compared to the non-drowsy ones I tried before and was taking for 2 months.

Should I continue taking these new ones for a while longer? do they take longer to get into your system? The pharmacist said they are stronger ones than the non-drowsy types and should help....but they aren't so far.

I'm unsure whether to get eye drops for allergic eyes too? I worry about the chemicals in them...? but then I'm probably going to end up damaging my eyesight if I continue rubbing them and they remain this itchy/sore/bloodshot anyway.

plz help

Quercetin

Quercetin has worked wonders for us. It comes in either pill or liquid form. I buy it from www.iherb.com

I also up my vit C intake while taking quercetin.

For the itchy eyes, Samilisan has been a life saver for me for about 7 years now. It's less expensive than many allergy eye drops and is homeopathic. You can find it just about anywhere these days, including Walmart. As far as OTC meds in general, I'm taking Zyrtec every night and adding Benadryl now and then if needed (store brand for both, to save money). I'd rely entirely on BioAllers tabs and tincture (homeopathic) but we simply can't afford it. If you can afford it, it might be a helpful "supplement" to something like Zyrtec. I hate to think of you being all doped up and still not getting relief.

As I've posted before, I'm on a Bioallers bandwagon. The link is to the grass version, but you may have tree pollen issues at this time of year. The tree pollen version & children's allergy version are helping DS right now. Some nights, we dose with Benedryl to make it through, but I think we're also dealing with some accidental food exposures that create itching, which keeps him awake.
