Last night SUCKED

DS woke up in the middle of the night and wanted to chat...for at least an hour.

What gives? DH suspected teeth but DS wasn't upset...well, until I put him down to lie by himself on the floor mattress because he kept hitting me in the face...

Thoughts? Is this normal for a one year old? And please tell me it doesn't last!

I hate to tell you, but River does that all the time. Not that that necessarily means it's normal, since as you know she's always been a horrible sleeper. I hope it doesn't turn into a pattern for you guys, though!

Does this mean he'll start words soon and not just babble? He's a bit behind on language so that would be GREAT.

probably - he's figuring things out

Happens here from time to time too. Doesn't seem to be a language development thing for us - DS was an early talker and now has about 15 words. Sometimes I wonder if he is trying to distract himself from some discomfort he might be feeling. It's more fun to play and talk then to try to sleep when you're uncomfortable.

DS started practicing syllables and sounds at around 4:30a every morning when he was about 6 mo. Since then it comes and goes. Its so cute but c'mon nothings really that cute at 4:30a!

Sometimes when my DD has done that, it HAS been teeth, even though she wasn't acting upset. I think it might be just uncomfortable enough where she can't sleep.
