movies and music suggestions for autistic child?

We are planning on HSing this school year my low-mod functioning autistic 7 yr old and my neuro-typical 5 yr old. DS1 does very well with music -- he can learn so many words through music -- he has a bad memory typically, but with a song he can remember everything. Musical movies/tv and CDs get him up and moving around (he also has mild CP -- very gross motor delay, among other things). We have 1 kindermusic cd that he loves, we have some baby einstein movies, and "The Wiggles" but would love more educational suggestions. These are used in his "free time". He doesn't have a long attention span for play -- the only toys he responds to are music toys -- fake and real instruments. CDs and DVDs are used during "quiet time" or play time as a form of entertainment - not curriculum, just in case anyone was wondering.

My ASD kiddo (5) loves Jessica Harper, Bob McGrath and Victoria Jackson. He finds the words very "silly". Also he is into Bob Marley and you tube - School House Rock.

You can get a dvd of school house rock.

We don't have experience with autism here, but my kids really like both CDs and DVDs of the Laurie Berkner Band.

I'd look through the Kiddie Records Weekly: Classics From the Golden Age website: "Fabulous forgotten treasures - children's records from the early 40s and 50s, including many classic stories, some of which were extravagant Hollywood productions." Downloadable to listen to FREE.

Most of them are not particularly "educational" in the usual use of the word, but there are some really fabulous productions of wonderful classics and other good stories, even a few operas, as well as educational ones such as Rusty in Orchestraville, Peter and the Wolf, What are Stars?, Tubby the Tuba, The Nutcracker Suite for Children, Manners Can be Fun, Pan the Piper, D-O-G Spells DOG, etc. Lillian
