Really need relaxation technique suggestions

Hello, I had a homebirth about 2 years ago. It was unmedicated and long (almost 30 hrs) and out of control! The contractions were one on top if the other from the get go and I was in transition for 4.5 hrs. I had prepared by doing a lot of reading (Ina may gaskin, hypnobirthing etc) and I practiced with the hypnobirthing cd for several weeks. Nothing seed to help. To be honest, I didn't have the presence of mind or wherewithall to use/ try anything bc the pain was so constant and intense from the start. I can not go through that again. Just in case this labour is the same, I need coping strategies and recommendations. I had a doula and pool and a great, supportive husband. I have to admit, I didn't like my doula bc her breath smelled like cig smoke. Obviosly I had no clue that she smoked and I was ticked at her for having a cig at 6 am and then blowing her breath in my face. But anyway, I guess that could have slowed my labour?
Has anyone used their iPod during labour? Are there visualization/ affirmation/relaxation downloads that would help or maybe music suggestions? I am ALL ears!
Thank you!

check out Hypnobabaies, it is different than hypnobirthing and MUCH more comprehensive than the book and cd (I'm assuming you didn't take a class).
