So a friend of mine moved into a house a couple of months ago. It was built in the 90's and the previous owners had a tanning bed in one of the rooms. This room is now her less than 1 year old son's room. He has been sick pretty much the entire time they have lived in the house. What would cause this? Could it be caused by the tanning bed that was in that room, mold, something totally unrelated?

Tanning beds are just light bulbs in a coffin shaped box. There shouldn't be anything that is residue from the tanning bed. It could really be anything in the house. If she thinks it's the room, she could paint with a sealing paint (like a oil based paint, or BIN sealer primer) and change the flooring to renew all the surfaces. But if it's mold, it could easily be the mold in the bathroom as the mold in the bedroom.

I don't know about spray tanning. I don't think so. I think just a regular tanning bed. She is just so confused because he was healthy until they moved and now he has fevers, rashes, ear infections, sinus problems, etc. I am sure it has nothing to do with the tanning bed, but it has to be something.

Sounds like allergy problems to me. It may not be anything in the house, it could be a tree in the back garden or anything. The sinus could be caused by allergies, ear infections are common when you have sinus problems because the ears, nose and throat are all linked up. The rashes sound like some kind of allergy too. The fever could be teething or the body trying to fix the problems with the ears and nose.
Also, it could all be related to teething. Temps, running noses, ear infections can all be caused by teething but I guess it depends on how high the temp is, where the rashes are etc.
