detergent for newborn clothes??

What do you use to wash your baby's clothes and blankies?
I'm especially concerned about colors not fading and stains coming out, but I'd like to avoid chemical-laden mainstream stuff (like Dreft? or is Dreft okay?).

Completely clueless here and need to start washing soon for Bean#1.
Thanks!

we were using country save laundry detergent which is safe for septic systems and cloth diapers but recently made the switch to soapnuts which I'm loving so far!

We use Nellie's; works for diapers and cloths over here.

We use Charly's Soap for everything.

I love soapnuts, but I can't find them locally anymore, so I use Country Save now.

I used Country Save up until recently and now I'm using Rockin Green.

I use Seventh Generation free and clear for baby stuff. DS has never shown any sensitivity to perfumes or dyes, but I figure there's no reason to use it. I looked at Dreft at first, but it's so heavily perfumed!

With DD we used Country save, with DS Seventh Gen Free and clear. I use Oxiclean for stains, I know they make a baby one, but that has been trhe only thing I found for stains that actually works. DS doesn't blowout nearly as much as DD did, but that newborn poo stains everything so does spit up.
